I'm afraid that I'm going to have to agree with you on all points, here and previously. The clearest response that comes to my mind to most of what you've said: Damn straight.
However, isn't life only self-sustaining because of our nature? I feel that it's a biological clock that drives us towards procreation and self-sustinance. How is that worthwhile? Fun may be had, but our only purpose as a species is to survive long enough to reproduce a 'stronger' version of ourselves. My 2 cents... (though with the strength of the dollar as it is, I'm not so sure that that's really anything at all)
